COLLABORATION TO CO-ELEVATION

Be there, be generous, be of service.

‘Collaboration is no longer enough. Now, more than ever, the world is about managing networks. Networks are the basis for how work gets done: for one to succeed, everyone must succeed, which requires a new level of commitment and accountability. It requires everyone to C0-ELEVATE their teammates.’ – Keith Ferrazzi

Collaboration is in our DNA: it is the reason why our forefathers survived and thrived. In our profoundly interdependent age, what will make or break you and your organization’s success is finding, building and maintaining relationships that are not one-sided or top-down, but rather multi-dimensional, together and up.

Collaboration is:

  • A mindset and a choice: not everyone knows that you can be partners not competitors, even within the same organization. Most of the time, our default is ‘you vs me’. You need to be explicit in your desire to collaborate, you need to take the first step, be the change you want to see.
  • Committed to each other’s well-being (Be there): ‘what’s in it for them’ instead of ‘what’s in it for me’.
  • Choose to care not aim to be liked: you don’t always need consensus, you do need a lot of candour.
  • Taking genuine interest in why people care what they care (Be generous): you are not being fake, inauthentic or having a hidden agenda, you are purposeful and giving.
  • Making it your mission to help others succeed (Be of service): ‘I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awake and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service is joy.’ – Rabindranath Tagore

Collaboration calls for you to move beyond reactive co-existence towards responsive co-creation, towards a journey of mutual elevation. Here is a much loved Pre-designed workshop by the sales force from diverse industries:
