AN EARTHY CUP OF MINDFULNESS

Some people will tell you there is a great deal of poetry and fine sentiment in a chest of tea.

There is something in the nature of tea that leads us into a world of quiet contemplation of life.

To me, mindfulness means doing something purposefully and intentionally. It means doing or being one thing at a time, in one place, and at one time. Tea provides the perfect opportunity for this kind of purposeful contemplation.

What best tea to use for your time other than the tangerine Pu’er tea? It has a beautiful story; it takes a complex process of twenty over steps to be made; it can’t be hurried, it take a minimum five years to mature and age; it has a unique earthy and citrusy taste that may take time for some to appreciate fully; it asks for your patience and curiosity to brew it; and it gives all your senses a rewarding experience.

I have two personal reasons to love this tea too: it was born in, and the best of its kind comes from my own hometown. It is my relationship with the tea, and my own story that I am sharing with you.

When you hold the tangerine in your hand, you are holding a relationship story: the tangerine is from Xin Hui city at the southeast part of China, and the tea inside is from Pu’er city, at the west part of the country, foothill of the Himalayan mountain range thousands of miles away. They are two individuals, unique and perfect both on their own and together. There are distance and differences between them that cannot be overcome and yet they are merged with each other to the core, they ARE, each other.

Isn’t that fascinating?

Come join me in exploring and enjoying this earthy cup of mindfulness. You will only be in this time and place the way you are at this one moment in time. It can never be reproduced exactly. Therefore, you’re having a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Love the idea? When shall we begin?
